Dark matter interpretation of recent electron and positron data.
We analyze the recently released Fermi-LAT data on the sum of electrons and positrons. Compared to a conventional, pre-Fermi, background model, a surprising excess in the several hundred GeV range is found and here we analyze it in terms of dark matter models. We also compare with newly published results from PAMELA and H.E.S.S., and find models giving very good fits to these data sets as well....
متن کاملThe Positron Excess and Supersymmetric Dark Matter∗
Using a new instrument, the HEAT collaboration has confirmed the excess of cosmic ray positrons that they first detected in 1994. We explore the possibility that this excess is due to the annihilation of neutralino dark matter in the galactic halo. We confirm that neutralino annihilation can produce enough positrons to make up the measured excess only if there is an additional enhancement to th...
متن کاملThe Galactic positron flux and dark matter
In this paper we calculate the Galactic positron flux from dark matter annihilation in the frame of supersymmetry, taking the enhancement of the flux by existence of dark matter substructures into account. The propagation of positrons in the Galactic magnetic field is solved in a realistic numerical model GALPROP. The secondary positron flux is recalculated in the GLAPROP model. The total posit...
متن کاملDark matter annihilation into γ−ray line generated by anomalies
We study the phenomenology of a UX(1) extension of the Standard Model where the SM particles are not charged under the new abelian group. The Green-Schwarz mechanism insures that the model is anomaly free. The erstwhile invisible dark gauge field X , even if produced with difficulty at the LHC has however a clear signature in gamma-ray telescopes. We investigate what BSM scale (which can be int...
متن کاملCosmic-ray Electron and Positron Excesses from Hidden Gaugino Dark Matter
We study a scenario that a hidden gaugino dark matter decays into the standardmodel particles (and their supersymmetric partners) through a kinetic mixing with the gaugino of a U(1)B−L broken at a scale close to the grand unification scale. We show that decay of the hidden gaugino can explain excesses in the cosmic-ray electrons and positrons observed by PAMELA and Fermi.
